- SCHEDULE
- 1. This Notice may be cited as the Marine Board (Control Over Maritime Traffic)
- 2. In this Notice, “boat” includes ship and personal watercraft (jet-ski).
- 3. This Notice applies from 19 May 2017 at all times.
- 4. A ten knot speed limit shall apply to all boats in the area of Hamilton Harbour from
- 5. All mariners, pilots and boatmen within Hamilton Harbour must exercise extreme
- 6. It is an offence under section 10(3)(a) of the Marine Board Act 1962 for the master
- 7. Paragraph 2 does not apply to boats responding to an emergency.

1 This Notice may be cited as the Marine Board (Control Over Maritime Traffic) (Hamilton Harbour) Notice 2017.

2 In this Notice, “boat” includes ship and personal watercraft (jet-ski).

3 This Notice applies from 19 May 2017 at all times.

Ten knot speed limit
4 A ten knot speed limit shall apply to all boats in the area of Hamilton Harbour from a line extending south from Saltus Island to Spectacle Island, and from there south-east to Musson Point, as shown on the plan in the Schedule.
Caution to be exercised by mariners
5 All mariners, pilots and boatmen within Hamilton Harbour must exercise extreme caution at all times, especially when approaching any other boats.
Offence
6 It is an offence under section 10(3)(a) of the Marine Board Act 1962 for the master of a ship or boat to fail to observe the requirements of this Notice, punishable on summary conviction in accordance with section 112 of that Act.
Exemptions for certain boats
7 Paragraph 2 does not apply to boats responding to an emergency.
